10 Reasons We Love Living in The South

As a Southern Native, these are all near and dear to my heart. If you grew up in the South or ever had the opportunity to spend some time in the South, you'd know we aren't all just a bunch of unintelligent rednecks, but yet we are living in a charming and sweet spot of our Nation.

1. Y'all, Honey, & Bless Your Heart

The accent is one of the many quirks about the South, but boy is it a good one. "Oh, honey, Y'all gotta come in and sit down for a while, bless your heart, you look starved" or "Heavens to Betsy I was fixin' to plant some flowers but it looks like a storm is blowin' in!" If you didn't read that in your Mamaw or one of your Aunt's accents, then you clearly never lived in the South.

2. Sweet, sweet Southern Food

Buttermilk biscuits, fried okra, fried chicken, fried green tomatoes (well really, fried everything), cornbread, mac & cheese, chicken and dumplings, collard greens, pecan pie, country steak, peach cobbler...need I say more?? You're welcome for the belly growl.

3. The Hospitality

You can almost surely guarantee a warm welcome in a Southern woman's home followed by a hug and a million questions about how you are doing, oh and probably something cooking in the kitchen that smells amazing and you are definitely going to eat too much of.
